2 Dallas Police Officers and a Security Guard Shot Outside Home Depot

The Dallas police were searching on Tuesday for Armando Juarez, 29, after the shooting of two police officers and a security guard. Two Dallas police officers were shot and critically wounded outside a Home Depot on Tuesday afternoon after they were called to assist in an arrest, the authorities said. A Home Depot security guard was also shot, but his or her condition was not released. Chief U. Renee Hall of the Dallas Police Department said that officers were searching for Armando Juarez, 29, a person of interest in the attempted capital murder of the two police officers. He is thought to have left the Home Depot in a white pickup truck; the police posted a photo of Mr. Juarez and the vehicle on Twitter. He is presumed to be armed, Chief Hall said . “Once again, Dallas is at the precipice looking into the hell of heartbreak as our Police Department was attacked this afternoon,” Mayor Mike Rawlings said at the start of a news conference, which was held at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where the victims were being treated. The police did not release the names of those shot or elaborate on their conditions, but said that the family of one officer was at the hospital and that the other’s family was en route. “It sobers us to realize what our officers walk into day in and day out and how quickly they can become victims,” the mayor said. At 4:12 p.m., the Police Department received a call to go to the Home Depot on Forest Central Drive in northeastern Dallas to help an off-duty officer who was there make an arrest, Chief Hall said. The shooting happened shortly after they arrived. The victims were transported to the hospital by the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department. State, local and federal law enforcement agencies were assisting the Dallas Police Department, Chief Hall said. “Our hearts are very heavy,” she said. Gov. Greg Abbott offered his “thoughts and prayers” in a tweet , saying, “Texas honors all the men and women who protect and serve our communities, and justice will be served.” In 2016, five Dallas police officers were shot and killed at a rally against police violence by Micah Johnson , a 25-year-old Army reservist who later died in a standoff with the police. Mr. Johnson, an African-American, was hoping to single out the white officers in the ambush. Last week, in Trenton, Fla., two sheriff’s deputies were shot dead by a gunman who ambushed them as they ate at a Chinese restaurant.

The Edward Snowden Interview Closed-circuit television In recent years, the use of body worn video cameras has been introduced as a new form of surveillance, often used in law enforcement, with cameras located on a police officer's chest or head. Video surveillance has generated significant debate about balancing its use with individuals' right to privacy even when in public. Special cameras for some of these purposes include line-scan cameras and thermographic cameras which allow operators to measure the temperature of the processes. With the addition of fixed cameras for the active traffic management system, the number of cameras on the Highways Agency's CCTV network is likely to increase significantly over the next few years. The cameras send the feed to a central control center where a producer selects feeds to send to the television monitors that fans can view.  New York C...

Security company in Bellevue vandalized

BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) - An Omaha home security company based out of Bellevue is using its own camera to help track down a thief who stole items from outside their building. Chris Malmberg, the owner of Omaha Security Systems Inc. says an unidentified man stole nearly $300 worth of landscaping Sunday night. "The motion sensors went off and I got a notification on my phone that he was there. We saw him take the plants, we watched him drive away and then immediately contacted police," said Malmberg. "He was real nervous, but he ended up stealing shrubbery, Hosta plants, I mean - never in my life have I ever known somebody to steal landscaping." Malmberg said the plants could be replaced, but what's frustrating is that this is one of several vandalism incidents his business has experienced since OSSI moved into the building near Jefferson and Mission Ave. "We've had vandalism, we've had items stolen, or attempted to be stolen, with the security that we...
