The police had filed a petition in the high court stating that Rajasthan may witness Panchkula-like violence, which broke out after the conviction of controversial godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case. Talking to ANI, Additional Advocate General Shiv Kumar Vyas had said,”The judgment will be pronounced in the jail keeping law and order of the state in mind on April 25.” Court refuses media coverage A day ahead of the verdict in the rape case against the self-styled godman Asaram Bapu , the Jodhpur court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking entry of media persons in Central Jail for the coverage. Earlier in 2013, the Supreme Court had refused to entertain a plea of Asaram for restraining the media from covering the sexual assault case against him. “At present, we cannot entertain your petition,” a bench comprising Chief Justice P Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi had said then. About the case Two sexual assault cases were filed against the self-styled godman Asaram, one in Rajasthan and the other in Gujarat. In the case registered in Rajasthan, a teenage girl had accused Asaram of sexual assault at his ashram in Manai village near Jodhpur. While in Gujarat, two Surat-based sisters had lodged separate complaints against the Godman and his son Narayan Sai, accusing them of rape. On August 3, 2013, the Jodhpur Police had arrested Asaram and since then, he is lodged in Jodhpur Central jail. He was charged under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. If convicted, Asaram faces a maximum sentence of 10 years. He has unsuccessfully moved 12 bail applications, of which 6 were rejected by trial court, 3 by the Rajasthan high court and 3 by the Supreme Court.

The Edward Snowden Interview Closed-circuit television In recent years, the use of body worn video cameras has been introduced as a new form of surveillance, often used in law enforcement, with cameras located on a police officer's chest or head. Video surveillance has generated significant debate about balancing its use with individuals' right to privacy even when in public. Special cameras for some of these purposes include line-scan cameras and thermographic cameras which allow operators to measure the temperature of the processes. With the addition of fixed cameras for the active traffic management system, the number of cameras on the Highways Agency's CCTV network is likely to increase significantly over the next few years. The cameras send the feed to a central control center where a producer selects feeds to send to the television monitors that fans can view.  New York C...

Chris Malmberg, the owner of Omaha Security Systems Inc. says an unidentified man stole nearly $300 worth of landscaping Sunday night. "The motion sensors went off and I got a notification on my phone that he was there. We saw him take the plants, we watched him drive away and then immediately contacted police," said Malmberg. "He was real nervous, but he ended up stealing shrubbery, Hosta plants, I mean - never in my life have I ever known somebody to steal landscaping." Malmberg said the plants could be replaced, but what's frustrating is that this is one of several vandalism incidents his business has experienced since OSSI moved into the building near Jefferson and Mission Ave. "We've had vandalism, we've had items stolen, or attempted to be stolen, with the security that we...
