5 innovative ways the Netgear Arlo Go keeps your family safer

Since parents don’t have eyes in the back of their heads — or the back of the house — many turn to security cameras to keep their homes safe. With the Netgear Arlo Go Mobile Security Camera , users get a real-time picture of goings-on outside or inside their property, all on their smartphone. Here are five essential features of the Netgear Arlo Go security camera: 1. Connectivity: Because the camera stream transmits over the Verizon LTE cellular network — via either a Verizon plan or Netgear’s Arlo Mobile service — the camera is operational in places without wireless coverage, and able to continue recording if the wireless connectivity goes down. Additionally, parents will never miss a security alert because of wireless or power outages. “This lack of a reliance on power and data has huge advantages, as you can set up the camera while camping or at a hotel or Airbnb,” notes TheTechReviewer .com . 2. Portability: You can bring the Arlo Go Mobile on trips and quickly use it at another location. The camera is wire-free, which makes it easier to move. “You can sit the camera on any flat surface or mount it to a wall, fence, tree, or other permanent spot with the included metal mount and screw,” writes TechHive.com , which also praises the device’s photo quality. “Even on the 'optimized' setting, which balances picture quality with battery life, Arlo Go displayed rich accurate colors and crisp detail." 3. Two-way communication: Parents can use the free app's two-way audio to listen in and talk to the people displayed on screen. TechHive.com offers a few uses for this feature: “The Arlo Pro also adds a built-in speaker and mic so you can soothe anxious pets, startle intruders, or ward off solicitors from your front porch.” 4. Storage: As video is recorded, it is stored both locally and in the cloud. “The Arlo Go stores your videos to a microSD card, a first for Arlo cameras. Like the rest of the Arlo line, the camera also comes with free rolling 7-day cloud storage for up to five cameras, plus three months of Netgear's excellent tech support,” Tom’s Guide notes. 5. Minimal recharging: Arlo Go uses rechargeable batteries that only need to be recharged every two to three months. By including an “optimize” setting, battery life can be extended while still delivering high-quality video. Digital Trends describes another option for longer battery life: “Users can opt for a solar charger that can keep remote cameras powered indefinitely in the right condition. (The solar panel needs two to three days of sunlight to fully charge a battery.)” the site notes. NerdTechy.com sums up the Arlo Go’s appeal. “The short and sweet of it is that the Arlo Go is one of the best-looking home security cameras we’ve used,” the site notes. “The video is incredibly sharp and captures even the smallest details with ease.” Be sure to visit Verizon's smart home security systems page today to discover the best option for you and your family.

The Edward Snowden Interview Closed-circuit television In recent years, the use of body worn video cameras has been introduced as a new form of surveillance, often used in law enforcement, with cameras located on a police officer's chest or head. Video surveillance has generated significant debate about balancing its use with individuals' right to privacy even when in public. Special cameras for some of these purposes include line-scan cameras and thermographic cameras which allow operators to measure the temperature of the processes. With the addition of fixed cameras for the active traffic management system, the number of cameras on the Highways Agency's CCTV network is likely to increase significantly over the next few years. The cameras send the feed to a central control center where a producer selects feeds to send to the television monitors that fans can view.  New York C...

Security company in Bellevue vandalized

BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) - An Omaha home security company based out of Bellevue is using its own camera to help track down a thief who stole items from outside their building. Chris Malmberg, the owner of Omaha Security Systems Inc. says an unidentified man stole nearly $300 worth of landscaping Sunday night. "The motion sensors went off and I got a notification on my phone that he was there. We saw him take the plants, we watched him drive away and then immediately contacted police," said Malmberg. "He was real nervous, but he ended up stealing shrubbery, Hosta plants, I mean - never in my life have I ever known somebody to steal landscaping." Malmberg said the plants could be replaced, but what's frustrating is that this is one of several vandalism incidents his business has experienced since OSSI moved into the building near Jefferson and Mission Ave. "We've had vandalism, we've had items stolen, or attempted to be stolen, with the security that we...
