Coosa Valley Elementary School in Pell City is in good hands after receiving $9,000 from the All State insurance company. “I am so excited about the possibilities with the money,” said Jennifer Hannah, principal of Coosa Valley Elementary. She said the money will pay for cameras to improve the security of the school. “I couldn’t do this without this money,” she said. The school has cameras inside the school, but the new cameras will cover the outside areas of the elementary school. Hannah said the outside security cameras should be in place before the start of the next school year. She thanked local All State agents Cory Bline and Preston Rhodes for their efforts in securing the grant money for Coosa Valley Elementary School. If they have any money available after security upgrades, Hannah said the grant money could also help buy devices or laptops for students. Local agents can secure $1,000 grants, but he was able to pool money from other agents to present a $9,000 grant to Coosa Valley Elementary where one of his children attends, and where his wife works as a teacher. “I had some good guys to be able to help me with the grant,” he said. Bline said nine different agents contributed their $1,000 grant money for the school. Agents from Pinson, two from Birmingham, Anniston, Rainbow City, Gadsden, Georgia, Rhodes from Pell City, and his agency, which is in Lincoln, each contributed their grant money for the $9,000 total. Bline said they had eight agents to participate last year, which helped present funds to a fire department in Anniston. 300x500 image ad Bline said, “I am going to take advantage of it as long as they do it.” He and his family live in Cropwell, but his All State insurance agency is in Lincoln. The agency has been there for the past four years. He said his All State agency offers personal, automobile, home, life, a college savings program and other financial services. Bline is originally from Talladega, but moved to Pell City when he was 12. He graduated from Pell City High in 1998. He said Benny Bowman steered him into the insurance business. “He said, ‘You ought to try to get a license and see if this could be a career for you’,” Bline said. “I tried it, and I liked it.”
